Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching, and the day full of turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie will be upon us shortly. Instead of spending massive amounts of time and money on the perfect Thanksgiving decor, check out these easy ideas that are sure to be a hit.
Wooden Cross
Remind family members and other guests to your home that Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful for all that we have. Carve a cross out of wood, and put it in the middle of the table. You might want to paint it, or just allow it to be a display in and of itself.
Candle Centerpieces
When fall and winter show themselves, people tend to have a greater affinity for candles than at other times of the year. Set some fall scented candles in the middle of the dining room table or scattered about throughout the house. You can light them up when the sun starts to set for a soft glow and delightful scents.
Thanksgiving Wreaths
A wreath on the front door made out of leaves, acorns and other fall essentials is one way to let people know that you’re really into the season. These wreaths are simple enough to purchase at the store, or you could make one yourself as a family project on a chilly November evening.
Kid Created Decorations
Let the children make some pretty pictures to hang up on the refrigerator or on the walls of the house. Another idea is for them to make little turkeys out of paper, and they can put these out as place cards for each guest that you’re expecting. The kids might also want to make Native American headresses and pilgrim hats. Hopefully, the family will be receptive to wearing them!
Any little touch of fall that you can add to your home is a way to amp up the Thanksgiving vibes. Keep your eye out for fun decorations at the local garden center or cute little trinkets on your bargain shopping days to create an ambiance that no one will ever forget.
